In our last sermon, we deliberated on a topic, ‘Dead but Deadly’ to be aware of the inevitable generational account, merit or demerit, for every creature on earth [man] to which God has blessed with a sense of freewill [Proverb 16: 9] and which likewise degenerates into series of individual spiritual empowerment able to perform exploits both for God and the devil and which varies among every individuals. Preamble:

This week, we shall be looking into a message titled, ‘He desires to have you’ in order to understand the mysteries behind every lopsidedness and problem of life. The world in its entirety is full of irregularities, unfairness and wickedness. This nature which takes its root from the spiritual has a benefiting factor both for God and the devil as it serves as the result or manifestation of the turbulence from the realm of the spirit because in as much as God desires your worship and His lordship over you, in the same manner the devil also desires his lordship [Isaiah 14: 12-15]. Please sit back and be blessed by this great lecture that will change your life forever.

Introduction:

The world in its entirety is a play ground for humanity which manifests the chaos and fraternity that had earlier confronted the heavenly realm [Isaiah 14: 12-19] and which brought about series of irregularities, unfairness and wickedness even in high places [Ephesians 6: 12].

The devil in his craftiness desires worshippers before him and as such have his followers fallen with him to support his ministry of killing, stealing and destroying [John 10: 10, 1 John 4: 1] which forms his major business and dealing to humanity but done under the devises or pretense of godliness [2 Corinthian 11: 14-15] in other to stylishly lead many to eternal destruction and therefore acquire individual lordship as a priority above everything in his capacity.

Life is a place of sorrow [John 16: 33] especially to those who do not know Christ or accept Him as their Lord and Saviour, because the devil is still actively taking charge [2 Corinthians 4: 4, John 14: 30] and ruling those who belong to this category except they find their coverage in Christ alone [Matthew 11: 28-29]. I pray that Lord take away your sorrow to replace with His everlasting joy in Jesus name.

The most important thing to note which forms the major criterion for the devil having his lordship over every individual is the fact that he gives good things unto his own [Matthew 7: 11] and has the ability to act in that capacity but every good and splendor that comes from him is already a contaminated one even before it gets to you as he desires your soul even more than you in body form [Mark 8: 36, John 10: 10].

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein [Psalm 24: 1]. The Almighty God is the ancient of days, and He created the earth and everything that dwells within and as such, He greatly desires the worship and praise of His creations, so His name be glorified and made manifest among nations [Psalm 22: 3, 1 Thessalonians 5: 18].

Our Bible text above [Galatians 5: 17-23 KJV] says, "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murderer, drunkenness, revellings and such like, of this which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith"

The flesh which is corrupt is of the devil as it was taken from the earth where he [devil] had been taken dominion and ruling over everything at his disposer [Ezekiel 28: 12-15, 2 Corinthians 4: 4] but the Spirit of God is not of this world rather of heaven and above and which justified such contention as we have read in our Bible reading above.

To contend is to earnestly desire over what is being contended for, just as we have read above that the Spirit and the flesh lust against themselves to gain control over your soul which therefore determines your action but because the desire of man is always in the flesh which is the things of this world that will pass or fade away, the flesh always have its way and therefore take control of the soul to fulfill its sinful desire [1 John 2: 15-17, Galatians 5: 17-23].

Beloved, in lieu of the above, we will realize that in as much as the Almighty God who created you desires your full worship, the devil also desires it so greatly to stylishly and indirectly stop the work of God over your life. He [devil] also knows that if he comes to you with a negative impression or manner, you may find it difficult to acknowledge and follow him, and so he disguises himself and come to you in a way which looks real good and positive but underneath is a lifetime Poison [Proverb 14: 12, 1 John 4: 1-4]. I pray the Lord grant you the grace discern which is the Godly path in Jesus name.

As a result of the above, the devil fights every individual especially those who belong to him but if you voluntarily and passionately resist him with action, he will flee from you [James 4: 7]. The devil also not just stop at trying to entice you with the things of the world but feeds on every individuals at the junction of birth which everyone has no control over except God be with him especially when he [devil] had seen the glory to come and realize cannot just stand the shame, even our lord Jesus Christ, he [devil] makes move for Him to be kill at birth but God protected His own [Exodus 1: 22].

The struggle and journey of life is zigzag and everything comes by difficult earnings. The greater problem of man is in the altar of choice making and it is only those who God or nature had prepared and positioned or given the grace to succeed that choose rightly. May the Lord grant you favour in your endeavor to choose right and even when you have chosen wrongly, may you find grace to make up at the time of needs in Jesus name.

Beloved, no man is perfect and has the ability to choose rightly except God be with him and even at that, he tarries at some point because man in the flesh is susceptible to his five senses only and so the only security that guarantees your desire and destination is in Christ Jesus because He is the one that can make up for you by reason of His innocent blood being shed on the cross or wipe out the legal charge of your indebtedness standing against you by reason of your foundation and ancestors account [Colossians 2: 14].

The devil is not omnipresent but he desires to have you at all cost and so he uses the network of his agents to perfect his wish of persuading you to choose wrongly because he knows you carry a power and that is the freewill God had given to you and embedded in your creation and which had made you a god on your own and so he [devil] cannot choose for you but to lure you to making a wrong choice [Proverb 16: 9]. Thus, this proves that the one the devil will use is not far from you, so be guided [Matthew 10: 36].

Conclusion:

We have learnt that the altar of decision making is the greatest problem of man and that in as much God desire to have you, in same manner, the devil desires his lordship over your being and that he is seated at that junction to contend and lure you to following his wish in order to have your soul.

We also learnt that man can never be perfect in the altar of decision making because two major powers are contending over their souls at that junction, which is that of God and of the devil and that it is only God through Christ who had shed his innocent blood that can make up with grace in such cases. So I will admonish you to accept Him [Christ] as your Lord and Saviour now so your insurance at the altar of decision-making be made perfect and guaranteed. The Lord bless you as you do.

Confession:

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour and you are convinced that you need him to come into your life so you can also tap into the grace available through shedding of his blood, and equally partake of the effectiveness of his wrath and the blessing that comes with it, and that you are sure, you are ready to repent from all those sin of fornication, adultery, lying, sexual immorality, pride, jealousy, hatred, idolatry, selfish ambition, witchcraft, impurity and debauchery, dissensions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and the likes, then locate a quiet place, be sober and be on your knees, and make this little confession but remember to be sure of what you are doing, so that you will not be playing pranks with God, when you respect him and give him honour, he will also honour you in the sight of men (Matthew 6: 6).

Lord Jesus, I come with total humbleness of heart to ask for forgiveness of my sins and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive me all my sins (you can begin to name them if you know them). I surrender my life to you and I want you to come and take full charge over my life and I accept you as my Lord and my Saviour, please cleanse me with your blood that you shed on the cross and make me a new man leaving old things behind, I promise to serve you and do your will at all time and I ask for the strength to carry on. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me.
